Of Accidents
Submitted by: Kristy Fox
A man and a girl from Nowata riding a motorcycle died after a pickup pulled into their path Wednesday in Rogers County, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said.
An Oklahoma City woman struck by a car last week also has died.
Dead are:
Edgar Walls, 39, Nowata;
Tori Collier, 15, Nowata; Mattie Koonce, 72, Oklahoma City.
Walls was driving a motorcycle north on U.S. 169 about one mile north of Oologah with passenger Collier at 11 a.m., the patrol said.
A pickup driven by Doyle Jackson Cook, 87, of Collinsville was southbound when he made a left turn into the path of the motorcycle.
Walls and Collier were dead at the scene, the patrol said. Cook was not hurt.
Walls and Collier were thrown from the motorcycle, the patrol said. Neither wore a helmet.
Koonce stepped in front of a car driven by Joey Patchin, 37, of Oklahoma City about 6:15 a.m. Aug. 7 in the 3000 block of S. Western Avenue, a police report said.
Koonce died at 3:06 p.m. Tuesday at Integris Southwest Medical Center from head injuries suffered in the accident.
