Sandra Kay Beu Tharp
July 29, 1958 - May 19, 2012
Funeral services for Sandy Kay Tharp will be held on Thursday, 10:00 a.m., May 24, 2012 at the Benjamin Funeral Service Chapel with Reverend Tom Tanquary officiating. Interment will follow at Martin Cemetery.
Sandy was born on July 29, 1958 in Nowata, Oklahoma to Eugene and Betty (Campbell) Beu. She was unexpectedly called home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 19, 2012.
Sandy grew up in Childers, OK and graduated from Delaware High School in 1976. She married Steve Ross Tharp on July 1, 1977 and they made their home in Delaware. Sandy had a long career at Western Publishing in Coffeyville, KS and in recent years had been a mail carrier for the USPS in Bartlesville, OK. She loved her job and the friends she met.
Sandy received great joy from her children and more recently being Nanny to her four grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time at her lake home with her husband and family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband, Steve Ross Tharp of the home, two daughters, Christy Bashford and her husband Kurt of Nowata, OK, Pam Tharp and Scott Pruett of Bixby, OK; four grandchildren, Kaleb and Kaylee Bashford of Nowata, OK, Brandon Waggoner and Austin Pruett of Bixby, OK; her parents, Eugene and Betty Beu of Childers, OK; one brother, Danny Beu and wife Linnie of Childers, OK; one sister, Sherry Jones and her husband Bud of Cherryvale, KS, a mother-in-law, Helen Tharp, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Edwin Eugene Beu, and father-in-law, Clifford Ross Tharp.
