Charles Walter (C.W.) Voise, 92, Stillwater, died Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2008.


Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Zion Lutheran Church, east of Perry. Pastor Craig Groseclose will officiate. Interment will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery under the direction of Palmer, Marler, Carberry Funeral Home of Stillwater. Visitation will begin at 8 a.m. Friday. Family will be available to accept friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday in the funeral home.


C.W. was born Nov. 24, 1915, in Perry. He married Elfrieda L. Wendel Aug. 15, 1940, and they lived on the family farm east of Perry until they moved to Stillwater in 1962 to a home he built. C.W. was a life-time member of the Zion Lutheran Church and was a loving person with a witty sense of humor any one would enjoy. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and musician and loved spending time with his family, especially with his grandchildren and most recently his great-grandchild.


Mr. and Mrs. Voise were foster parents to many children who they loved unconditionally and taught the love of the Lord. He was a good role model with great ethics and had a wonderful sense of family and commitment. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and were touched by his love and kindness.


Voise is preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a son, Leon Walter Voise; two sisters, Emma Nida and Lillian Friedemann; and three brother in-laws, Charles Nida, Bert Friedemann and Gus Friedemann.


He is survived by two sisters, Sophia Friedemann and Florence Friedemann and husband, Adolph, of Stillwater; his daughter, Carri Hoffman and her husband, Donnie, of Stillwater; three grandchildren, Micah McLauchlin and his wife, Emilee, of Columbia, S.C. and Joshua and Kaleb Hoffman of Stillwater; and one great-grandchild, Kittrell McLauchlin of Columbia, S.C.; many nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.


Memorials may be made to Judith Karman Hospice or the Perry Zion Lutheran Church. These donations can be made at either location or at Palmer, Marler, Carberry Funeral Home.
