Charles A. OWENS, 87, resident of Billings since 1910, died Sunday (July 30, 1967) in Enid Memorial hospital following an illness.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Billings Christian Church with Rev. Jere' Wells, minister, officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery southeast of Billings, under direction of Anderson Funeral Home.
Mr. Owens was born Nov. 7, 1879, in Crothersville, Ind., and came to Oklahoma in 1910, settling in Billings. He married there June 4, 1911 to the former Irene Holmes, who preceded him in death Dec 2, 1966. The couple observed their golden wedding anniversary in 1961. He was a retired carpenter, a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge and a life member of the Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include a son, Fred C. Owens, Wichita; three daughters, Mrs. Clyde (Charleen) Mooney, Derby, Kan; Mrs Dorotha Lewis, Sacramento, Calif.; and Mrs. John (Virginia) Moncrief, Enid; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
