Mark Thompson of Ponca City passed away Monday, March 16, 2020 with his mother by his side. He was 57 years of age.  Mark was born September 3, 1962 in Dallas, Texas to Bernie and Dianna Bassett Thompson.
 
The traditional noon feast is scheduled for Thursday, March 19, 2020 at the Otoe-Missouria tribal complex with burial to follow in the Otoe Missouria tribal cemetery under the care of Grace Memorial Chapel of Ponca City. Casketbearers will be Joshua Black, Brad Childs, Joey Hill, Mike Black, John Shotton and Tim Bassett.
 
 He grew up in Garland Texas graduating from Lakeview High in 1980 and attended college at East Texas University in Commerce, Texas and came to Ponca City in 2009. Mark worked for the Otoe – Missouria Tribe as an Administrative assistant. During his early years he enjoyed playing Softball and later in life he was an avid OSU fan attending football games and going to the casino’s.
 
Left behind to cherish his memories are his mother; Dianna Thompson of the home, 1 son Patrick Thompson of Garland, TX 3 step daughters; Leann Eckert of Bartlesville, OK Lynnette Voorhees of Nixa, MO and Sheila Marler of Copan, OK,1 brother; Len Thompson of Texas and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
 
Mark was preceded in death by his father, 1 son; Andrew S. Thompson on March 13, 2020 and 1 sister; Cynthia Marie Thompson.
