Enid,OK — Mass of Resurrection for Betty Sadler, 82, of Perry, will be 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 29, 2008, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. The Rev. Tom Dowdell will officiate. Arrangements are by Brown-Dugger Funeral Home, Perry.

She was born July 12, 1926, in Hominy to Leonard Albert and Louise A. West Shaffner and died Thursday, Dec. 18, 2008, at Perry Memorial Hospital.

Following her mothers death, she was raised by her father and stepmother, Thelma Slamans Shaffner. She attended St. Louis Indian School, Pawhuska, through the eighth grade and graduated from high school in 1944 at St. Scholastica Academy, Fort Smith, Ark. She attended Oklahoma A & M for two years.

She married J.D. Sadler Aug. 21, 1946, in Pawhuska. She moved to Perry from Stillwater 55 years ago. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, the Altar Society, various bridge clubs, and Goof Day Girls.

Surviving are her husband, J.D.; five sons, Mike Sadler of Norman, Lenny Sadler and Tony Sadler, both of Amarillo, Texas, and Mark Sadler and Danny Sadler, both of Tulsa; one daughter, Mary Louise Dolezal of Perry; 19 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one sister.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home, 1010 N. 7th Street, Perry, OK 73077, to Catholic Charities or Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation.
