Wayne Dale Robbins left this earth, calm and peaceful, to join his love Sue in Heaven on November 13, 2019, in Guthrie, Oklahoma.

He was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on January 19, 1934 to Harry Lauvern Robbins and Vera May Holmes Robbins. He graduated from Capital Hill High School in Oklahoma City in 1952.

Wayne was a lifelong welder and 67 year member of Plumbers and Pipefitters, Local 344. He started his career welding on nuclear power plants, moved to the oil field then construction. He helped create many of Oklahoma’s lasting structures including Mercy Hospital, Baptist Hospital, and the first Oklahoma Braum’s plant. As foreman on many projects, to work for Wayne you needed to be “worth your salt”.

Wayne loved the outdoors. He was a farmer, a fisherman and amazing hunter, shooting a state record 22pt buck in 1999.

Wayne was well known to his friends, family, nurses and doctors as “Ornery.” Quick witted and smart, he loved to joke and tease. To his grandchildren he was Papa Wayne who all have lasting memories of fishing, hunting and planting crops at the 40. Wayne married Sue Wentz Robbins on November 6, 1983 making Perry his home for many years, and moved back to Guthrie in 2014.

Wayne is preceded in death by his father HL Robbins, his mother Vera Holman, his stepmother Edna Robbins, sister Verna May Johnson, sister Mary Louise Levann, sister Virginia Lee Robbins, and wife Sue Robbins.

He leaves behind his loving daughter Kathy and husband Cody Hayes, daughter Debbie Duncan, son Troy Robbins Musil, step son Randy and wife Brenda Vollmer, stepson Rodney and wife Courtney Vollmer, step daughter Vicki Simon, step daughter Toni Strader and Diane Davis.
