LUCIEN - Estel James Avery, 73, died Sunday, in Grand Junction, Colo.  Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ray Smith officiating. Burial will be at the McGuire Cemetery under direction of the Ladusau-Eans Funeral Home.

Avery was born Jan. 2, 1912 in Huntingburg, Ind., to Charles and Bessie Avery. He was married to Olive Christman on Jan. 30, 1934, in Enid.  Avery was a retired oil field worker and was a member of the United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife; five sons, James Avery, Grand Junction, Colo., Roger Avery, Edmond, Steve Avery, Covington, Mark Avery, St. John's Ariz., and Paul Avery, Sallisaw; four daughters, Barbara Avery and Peggy Hilliard, both of Sallisaw, Cindy Avery, Orem, Utah, and Lisa Avery, Logan, Utah; three brothers, Ralph Avery, Loma, Colo., Glenn and Fred Avery, both of Covington; a sister, Verla Mack, Covington; 18 grandchildren. and a great grandchild.
