Rites Pend for Johnson, Area Native

Arrangements for services were pending Friday at the Brown Funeral home for Ramee Richard Johnson, 87, who died Thursday evening at his home four miles north and two west of Orlando.

An official investigation of the death was made under Oklahoma medical examiner law and found to be natural causes. Making the investigation were Dr. John Sayre, county medical examiner; Jerry Cook, county undersheriff; and Dan Allen, assistant district attorney. Johnson, who had been ill recently, died at approximately 7:40 p.m. Thursday. At the home then were his grandson and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Johnson.

Born June 9, 1898, near Orlando in Oklahoma Indian Territory, Johnson had lived and worked and died all his life on the same 160-acre Noble county farm. He was the son of Richard and Clara Johnson and attended Lawnview school.

He was married Nov. 27, 1919, at Orlando to Kathryn Frederick, who preceded him in death in 1978. He had worked as a farmer and in the oil fields and also had done county road maintenance work. He was a member of the Orlando United Methodist church.

Survivors include three sons, Ralph Johnson, Perry; Wayne Johnson, Stillwater; and Gerald Johnson, Casper, Wyo.; three sisters, Mrs. Pearl Henn, Perry; Joy Shawbell, Tulsa; and Elvyn Austin, Arvada, Colo. ; 17 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one son, one brother and one sister.

Rites Monday At Orlando for Johnson

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the United Methodist church at Orlando for Ramee Richard Johnson, 87, who died Thursday evening at his home four miles north and two west of Orlando.

Burial will be in the Lawnview cemetery north of Orlando under direction of Brown Funeral home. The casket will not be opened at the service, but will be open at the funeral home.

Born June 9, 1898, Johnson had lived all his life on the family farm northwest of Orlando. Johnson had worked as a farmer, in oil fields and had done county road maintenance work.

Survivors include three sons, three sisters, 17 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Casket bearers will be Bob Bolay, George Gleason, Donald Meyer, Earnest Karcher, Dale Kindschi and Argyle Gleason.
