ENID, Okla. — Charles “Short” Jerome, 97, of Edmond, Okla., formerly of Orlando, OK., was the son of Charles Fredrich and Ida Mae (Sesline) Jerome. He was born July 31, 1915, in Orlando and died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012, at his residence in Edmond.

Charles loved to work on his farm but he also spent many years working as an OSU policeman in Stillwater, Oklahoma.

He married his best friend and sweetheart, Helen Warren on October 29, 1929 in Perry, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death on May 10, 2007.

Charles enjoyed fishing and beadwork but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
 

Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012, at Brown-Dugger Funeral Home Chapel in Perry, Okla. Sam Jerome will officiate. Services are under the direction of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home in Perry, Oklahoma.

Charles is survived by his daughter, Anita Jerome Kuehne and her husband Jim of Edmond, Oklahoma; one sister, Willa Mae Kanehl of Mannford, Oklahoma; two grandchildren, Bea Ann Kangas of Wichita, Kansas, Ben Kuehne of California and six great grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen; parents, Charles and Ida Jerome and three brothers.
