FAIRVIEW- Laura Ellen Vandenberg, 101, died Thursday at the Fairview Fellowship Home. Private family graveside service will be Saturday at Grace Hill Cemetery at Perry with Dr. Gene Hunt officiating.  Fairview Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. 

She was born July 7, 1887 near Pittsburgh, Kansas.  She married John Vandenberg on June 3, 1912, in Perry.  They lived in Wichita, Kansas for six years and moved to Perry until 1946 when they returned to Wichita.  He died in 1954.

She was a lifetime member of the order of the Eastern Star of Perry and Mother Adviser to Rainbow Girls of Perry.

Surviving are a daughter, Virginia Shades of Fairview; a son, John of Houston; four grandsons; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters.
