The funeral for Ralph V. Nida, 75, of Perry, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at First Christian Church, Perry. The Rev. Martin Foster will officiate. Burial will be in Grace Hill Cemetery, Perry. Arrangements are by Brown-Dugger Funeral Home, Perry.

He was born Dec. 23, 1930, in Yellville, Ark., to Ralph and Bonnie Reed Nida and died Wednesday, March 1, 2006, at Green Valley Nursing Home, Perry.

He graduated from Orlando High School in 1948 and served in the Marines from 1952 to 1954, earning the rank of corporal.

He married JoAnn Crews and was self-employed as a welder.

Surviving are three sons, Hank Nida, Ralph V. Nida Jr. and William J. Nida, all of Perry; three daughters, Cheryl A. Jeter of Perry, Shirley R. Battles of Blackwell and Ethel A. England of Montrose, Colo.; one brother, Kenneth Nida of Covington; two sisters, Bonnita Foster of Perry and Doris Alexander of Coppell, Texas; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one daughter and a son.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home, 1010 N. 7th Street, Perry, OK 73077, to American Cancer Society.
