Fern “Cookie” Manning passed away Friday, January 31, 2020 in Perry, Oklahoma surrounded by her family. She was 72.

Services have been entrusted to the care of Dighton-Marler Funeral Home of Perry.

A Celebration of Cookie’s life will be held on Friday, February 7, 2020 at 3PM in the chapel at Dighton-Marler Funeral Home, Perry. Mr. Sam Jerome will officiate.

Interment will follow at Grace Hill Cemetery in Perry.

Fern was born April 6, 1947 in Pawhuska, Oklahoma to Phillip Stanley Cardin and Alice (Stanley) Cardin. Her family traveled around several place before settling in Perry. She worked for 22 years with Perry Public Schools in the cafeteria and retired as the Food Service Manager. Some of her hobbies include
Gardening, coaching and watching softball and watching basketball. Loved doing puzzles.

She leaves behind her family of three children, Tim Manning of Perry, Oklahoma, Lisa Edgar of Perry, Oklahoma, and Mike Manning and wife Jennifer of Cleveland, Oklahoma; husband, Merle Manning of Perry, Oklahoma; eight siblings, Bill Cardin and wife Dovie of Marshall, Oklahoma, Evelyn Spurgeon of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Stanley Cardin and wife Kim of Enid, Oklahoma, Louise Savoie and husband Don of Owasso, Oklahoma, Joann Vlancek of Perry, Oklahoma, Kitty Coffman and husband Jim of Owasso, Oklahoma, Sandy McLaughlin and husband Mike of Hayward, Wisconsin, Alma Klinglesmith and Terry of Perry, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Jared Manning, Jaden Manning, Jeremy Manning, Corisa Edgar, and Cody Edgar and wife Danelle; four great-grandchildren, Hadley Edgar, Ila Edgar, Everly Hemler, and Sawyer Manning; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Ted Cardin, Todd Cardin, and Earl Cardin.
