Lucille Hansing LaRue Hasenfratz

Funeral services for Lucille Hansing LaRue Hasenfratz, 97, of Perry, were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Brown-Dugger Funeral Home Chapel with Father Tom Dowdell officiating. Interment followed in Grace Hill Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home.

She was born March 5, 1910, to Harry and Anna (Trumbla) Hansing in a dugout, on the farm south of Perry, where she lived until she built the home where she lived most of her life. She passed away in Perry Memorial Hospital Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007.

Lucille was a member of the First Baptist Church. At the age of 16, Lucille went to barber school in Oklahoma City and worked there for awhile. She was named Rodeo Queen in Pawhuska in 1969. For many years, she spent lots of time cooking family dinners. She loved gardening, her flowers and going to auctions and garage sales. Lucille enjoyed dancing and in 1950 built a large barn, which became known as the "Simmons Barn". For a time Lucille and her former husband operated LaRue's Chili Parlor.
 
Lucille married Leo Hasenfratz in Ponca City on June 25, 1976.

Surviving her are her husband of 31 years of the home; step-children, Tom and Shirley LaRue of Whittier, Calif., Bill and Connie LaRue of Edmond, Velma Hood of Guthrie, Sharon LaRue of Cherokee, Dan and Patsy Hasenfratz and Sandra and Maurice Grubb, all of Perry, Tom and Pat Hasenfratz of Ponca City; two sisters, Jacqueline Worley of Ponca City and Maxine and D.C. Moore of Independence, Kan.; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
Preceding her in death was her former husband, Tom LaRue; two step-sons, James LaRue and Robert LaRue; her parents, one sister, Marcell Cramer; one brother, Buster Hansing and one nephew, Richard Hansing.

Memorials were made to the Alzheimer Association in care of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home, 1010 N. 7th Street, Perry, Oklahoma 73077.
