Ambrose Stanton was born in Williamson County, Texas, July 2, 1860. 

He was united in Holy matrimony with Miss Martha Lucindy Wilson January 7, 1886 in Granger, Texas.  To this union were born five sons and five daughters.  He left Texas with his family and came to Oklahoma in 1890. In 1893 he moved to the Strip where he homesteaded in Garfield County, Oklahoma, near Lucien, and has lived in Oklahoma most of the time.  He was united with the Christian Church in August, 1907.  He moved to Hunter, four years ago and has made it his home since. 

He was taken ill three months ago and removed to University hospital in Enid, two weeks ago he underwent a surgical operation, and passed away March 20, 1926 at the age 65 years, 8 months and 18 days. 

He leaves to mourn him, his wife M.L. Stanton of Hunter, and eight children, Mrs. Bertha Cornell of Los Angeles, California, Mrs. Bessie Claunch of Hunter, Mrs. Clara McCoy of Blackwell, Oklahoma, Arthur of Hunter, James N. of Evanston, Wyoming, Rex of Fort Riley, Kansas, Ona and Keith of Hunter, The other two Willie and Elva preceded him in death.  11 grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. 

Funeral services were held at the Perry Christian Church, Tuesday afternoon, the Rev. Sanders officiating.
