James "Jim" H Dillon passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at his home in Perry surrounded by his wife and children. He was 85. Services have been entrusted to the care of Dighton-Marler Funeral Home of Perry.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Jim will be held on Monday, July 1, 2019 at 10AM at St. Rosa Lima Catholic church in Perry. Father Balla will officiate. Jim will be laid to rest on the family ranch west of Perry.

Jim was born April 16, 1934 in Omaha, Nebraska to James Christian and Ina Bernice (Custard) Dillon. He grew up in Omaha where he attended school and graduated from Elkhorn High School in 1951. After graduation Jim attended the University of Nebraska ??? Omaha. Jim then joined the United States Coast Guard. After receiving an honorable discharge from the Coast Guard, Jim and Sue Shane were married January 12, 1956 in Omaha.
While in Elkhorn Jim built the Triple D Horse Ranch. In 1977 they moved to Taos, New Mexico where Jim pursued his interest and skill in art and sculpturing and became an avid Western Artist and Horseman. In 1982 Jim took a job in the oil & gas business that landed he and Sue in Perry, Oklahoma. The oil field was generous to Jim while he built the Dillon Running Horses Ranch west of Perry. Jim was a member of St. Rosa Lima Catholic Church in Perry.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Sue; five children, Steve Dillon (Rose) of Perry, OK., David Dillon (Karla) of Shady Shores, TX., Terrie Platt (Harold) of Justin, TX., Tracy Hayes (Tim) of Las Vegas, NV., Chris Dillon (Heidi) of Perry, OK.; sister, Darlene Hazard of Elkhorn, NE.; brother, Dan Dillon (Carol) of Wichita, KS.; 12 grandchildren, Kimberly Mangeau, Kristen Dillon, Randi Keyes, Rachael Valentine, Kimberly Monsibais, Britni Joseph, Jennifer Platt, Joe Platt, Kadie Davenport, Kerri Sue Smith, Alexandra Dillon, and Dirk Dillon; 18 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother-in-law, Glenn Hazard.

Family requests that memorial donations be made to Karman Legacy Hospice in c/o Dighton-Marler Funeral Home, P.O. Box 189, Perry, Ok., 73077.
