1934 - 2004
A graveside service will be held for Edward George Underwood on Friday, August 27, 2:00 p.m., at Hillcrest Memorial Park. After a brief illness Ed Underwood was called home to be with the Lord on August 20, 2004.
He was born in Haskell, Oklahoma on October 3, 1934. In the early 40s he and his parents, Ernest Edward and Nellie Babe, came to live in Wasco, CA. There he attended Wasco High School where he was a four year varsity letterman. He later attended Pasadena Nazarene College and also served two years as a member of the 101st Airborne in Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Ed also has been an active member of the Olive Knolls Church of the Nazarene. He was a lifetime member of the Bakersfield Men's Bowling Association.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Nancy Lee (Bright) Underwood and his three children, Bobby Gene, Michael Leon and his wife, Vicki Lynn, Rebecca Lynn, and adopted son, Roger Wright; his brother, Bill Ray Underwood, and sister, Sharon Gail Varner. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Tyler Edward, Kaylee Shyanne, Taylor Lee, numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, and nieces and nephews.
No viewing is scheduled.
