Barney Kessel has died. He was 80.

Born Oct. 17, 1923, in Muskogee, Okla.,

Mr. Kessel is survived by his wife, Phyllis; his two sons from a previous marriage, Dan and David Kessel; three stepchildren, Christina Wand, Colette Wand Wirtschafter and Cleo Dougherty; and five grandchildren.

Services are private.
