Vera Ann (Chubbee) James

February 25, 1947 ~ June 3, 2015

Vera Ann James, 68, went to be with her Savior on Wednesday, June 3, 2015. She was born on February 25, 1947 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma to Austin and Irene (Jackson) Chubbee.

Vera was a selfless woman who loved her family unconditionally. She graduated from Central High School in 1965. Vera loved pets, especially her two cats, Tony and Marty. She was always a very friendly person and enjoyed visiting and taking care of her neighbors. She was very proud to be a member of the Choctaw Indian Nation. Vera had a great sense of humor and liked to make people laugh and smile. Most of her time was spent taking care of Michael and she always cared for her family.

Vera was preceded in death by her father.

She is survived by her mother; daughters, Crystle Coleman and husband Eric of Muskogee, Trena and husband Jerod Rentfrow of Broken Arrow; son, Michael James of the home; one sister, Theresa Gay of Sand Springs; 14 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; as well as many other friends.

A funeral service celebrating the life of Vera Ann James will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at the First Indian Baptist Church with Reverend James Farmer officiating. Burial will follow at the Memorial Park Cemetery. The family has entrusted Bradley Family Funeral Service with the arrangements.
