Albert (Speck) McGilbra, 98, of Oktaha, passed away Monday, October 27, 2008. He was born May 19, 1910 in Eufaula, OK to Ethel Mae Davis McGilbra and Lewis McGilbra.After retiring from the Army with 22 years service Albert farmed until his retirement in 2000. He was married to Rachel McGilbra on May 3, 1940. She preceded him in death on April 16, 2005 after 65 years of marriage.Survivors include: sons, Allan McGilbra and wife Bonnie of Owasso, OK, James McGilbra and wife JoBeth of Philadelphia, MS, Steve McGilbra and wife Debbie of Summit, MS and Curtis McGilbra of Oktaha, OK; ten grandchildren and five great- grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Foster-Petering Funeral Home, Muskogee, OK. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday at Fort Gibson National Cemetery, Fort Gibson, OK. Friends may wish to remember Mr. McGilbra by making memorial contributions to Oklahoma Veterans Center, Claremore Division, P.O. Box 988, Claremore, OK 74018. Funeral service arrangements are under the direction of Foster-Petering Funeral Home.
