August 1, 1930 ~ January 19, 2022

Charles J. Cook, 91, of Porum, Oklahoma, passed away January 19, 2022 in Conroe, Texas. He was born August 1, 1930, the son of Charles Edward and Bessie (Virden) Cook in Porum where he was raised and graduated from high school.

Charles moved from Porum to Muskogee where he lived his adult life. In 1950, he married Betty Ann and the couple was blessed with three children. Charles worked as a supervisor at Swift & Company. He was a baseball pitcher and played in the Muskogee ball field. He coach Little League, and enjoyed playing poker. He was a member of Central Assembly of God in Muskogee.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Wanda Faye Murray and brother, Bob Cook.

He is survived by his wife, Cordie Cook; son, Jim Cook and his wife Teresa of Conroe, TX; daughters, Pam Griffith and her husband Tony of Fort Gibson and Teresa Ann Salins and her husband Jan of Spring, TX; brother, James Henderson Cook of Muskogee and five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 27th and Friday, January 28th from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Hunn Funeral Home in Checotah. The family will receive guests from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 29th at Fields Cemetery in Porum.
