Mildred (Taylor) Close Todd
December 30, 1935 - December 23, 2012

Mildred Close Todd, 76, died December 23, 2012 in Muskogee, Oklahoma. She was born December 30, 1935 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma to James M. and Mary G. (Upton) Taylor.

She enjoyed gardening, canning, crocheting and knitting. Mildred also enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She worked as a cook for Norwood Public Schools for several years before she retired.

She is survived by her husband, Henry Todd Sr.; daughters, Judy Field and husband Lanny of Ft. Gibson and Julie Close of Glennpool; son, David Close and wife Debra of Hulbert; grandchildren, Jimmy Todd Jr., Jeremy Todd, Johnathon Field and wife Morgan, Jason Close and wife Barbara, Jeffery Close, David Close Jr., Dennis Close, Vance Young, Donna Maddox, Samantha Young and Trittany Young; great grandchildren Kyle Todd, Rebecca Todd, Kimberli Close and Cody Whitekiller; brothers, Willie Taylor, James Taylor Jr., Roy Taylor and Jimmie Taylor and wife Barbara; sisters Susie Carter and Bess Yandell; sister-in-laws Janie Taylor and Beverly Taylor; brothers-in-law, Richard Puckett and William Raper; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Mildred was preceded in death by husband, Robert E. Close; her parents; brothers, Sam, Johnny, Henry and Cliff; sisters, Rosie Kisner, Nancy Taylor, Oma Puckett, and Marie Raper; sisters-in-law, Doris Taylor, Elizabeth Taylor; brothers-in-law Jack Carter and Jonce Yandell; and son-in-law Jimmy (Bo) Todd.

Serving as pallbearers are grandsons, Jeremy Todd, Jason Close, Johnathon Field, David Close Jr., and Dennis Close. Services will be held Friday December 28, 2012 at 10:00 a.m., at Calvary Faith Church in Fort Gibson with Reverend Rickey Harris officiating. Burial will follow at Citizens Cemetery.
