Thomas Lee Roberts
February 19, 1961 ~ March 24, 2012


On February 19th, 1961, a beautiful boy was born to James and Fannie Ligons Roberts, Sr. and they named him Thomas Lee Roberts, but was affectionately called “Pookie” by family. He was the second child of this union. Thomas attended Muskogee High School graduating with the class of 1979. He furthered his education at Northeastern State University.

Accepting Christ as his Savior at a young age, he became a member of St. Mark Baptist Church.

Thomas met and married Patrice Sheppard and they made their home in Tulsa, OK. A son was added to this union. Years later they relocated to Tucson, AZ. The marriage was later dissolved. Thomas came back home to Muskogee in 2004.

On Saturday morning, March 24th, 2012, Thomas Lee Roberts in his 51st season surrendered his soul to Jesus. He was greeted in heaven by his grandparents, parents, brother, aunts, uncles and other relatives who preceded him in death.

Those he leaves behind to cherish their memories of him include his children, Latoya, Oklahoma City, OK and James III, Tucson AZ. Brother, Jeffrey (Terri) Roberts, Broken Arrow, OK. Sisters, Delores (Scotty) Wright, Muskogee, OK and Anita Roberts, Arlington, VA. Nephews, Jarrod, Jeff and Travis. Nieces, Yomika Chloe, Marquel and Danielle, along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

The homegoing service for “Pookie” will be held Saturday, March 31th, 2012 11:00 a.m. at St. Luke Baptist Church, with Rev. Ray Pickett, pastor, officiating.

He will be laid to rest in Booker T. Washington Cemetery.

Visitation hours are today from 12:00 p.m.. until 6:00 p.m.

Services are under the direction of Ragsdale Funeral Center.
