Charles "Creed" Saunders, Jr., a resident of Sulphur was born November 12, 1927 in Dougherty, Oklahoma to Charles & Ettner Mae (Duncan) Saunders. He passed away Sunday August 21, 2011 at Ardmore, Oklahoma at the age of 83 years 9 months and 9 days.

He was married to Patsy LaFaye (Williams) Saunders at Gainesville,Texas on September 25, 1948. She preceded him in death May 31, 2002. He had lived in this area all of his life, attending school in Dougherty. He had worked in construction and retired from Rural Water Dist.#1 as field manager. He was a Vet. of WWII served in Army Air Corp. He was a member of Central Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son: Richard "Butch" Saunders, daughter: Diane Stewart, brothers: John Saunders, Otis "Bo" Saunders, sisters: Irene West, Patsy Garland, grandson: Derek Saunders.

Survived by his Son & daughter-in-law: David & Tina Saunders of Sulphur, Oklahoma, Son: Mike Saunders of Sulphur, Oklahoma, 2 brothers: Harvey Saunders of Ardmore, Oklahoma and Orval Saunders of Sulphur, Oklahoma, 6 sisters: Mary White of Kingman, Arizona, Mildred Allen of Sulphur, Oklahoma, Betty Lou Wilson of Davis, Oklahoma, Lona Edwards, of Dougherty, Oklahoma, Linda Spears of Lexington, Oklahoma, Jeanie Clelland of Kingman, Arizona, a Special Friend: Maxine Mattingly of Sulphur, Oklahoma, 12 Grandchildren 16 Great Grandchildren 2 Great Great Grandchildren.

Services: 10:00AM Thursday August 25 at Midway Hill Baptist Church with interment to follow in Dougherty Cemetery.
