Blanche Allton Pollock, 94, of Amarillo died Thursday, May 16, 2002.
Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. today in Llano Cemetery with Dr. James E.
Garrett, pastor of Polk Street United Methodist Church, officiating.
Arrangements are by N.S. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount
Blvd.
Mrs. Pollock was born in Claremore, Okla., on Dec. 31, 1907. She graduated
from Claremore High School in 1925 and moved to Amarillo in 1926. She
married Frank S. Pollock on July 8, 1928, and together they founded Frank's
Barber and Beauty Supply in 1930. The family extends their deepest
appreciation to Mrs. Pollock's care givers, Kaki Johnson, Mary Lopez, Gloria
Garcia, Donna King and Elida Mendoza.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1963.
Survivors include a daughter, Martha Sloan and husband, Bob, of Dallas; two
brothers, William O. Allton of Cushing, Okla., and Charles Allton of Miami,
Okla.; five nephews; and four nieces.
The family suggests, in lieu of flowers, memorials be to Panhandle Chapter
Alzheimer's Association, 2200 W. Seventh Ave., Amarillo, TX 79106; or to
the Amarillo Botanical Gardens, 1400 Streit Drive, Amarillo, TX, 79106.
