Memorial services for Mary Lou Woods, 45, of Cordell were held Thursday, April 24, 2003 at 2:30 p.m. at Rose Chapel, officiated by Ray Smart. Services were under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Services, Sayre, Oklahoma.
Mary was born March 29, 1958 in San Diego, California to Marie and Jearl Dean Ferguson. She passed away April 18, 2003 in her home, Cordell, Oklahoma at the age of 45 years and 19 days.
She moved with her parents to Brawley, California and later to Elk City, Oklahoma in 1970 where she graduated from Elk City High School in 1977.
Mary was married to Allen Woods in February of 1977 in Albuquerque, New Mexico and they lived in Marysville, California. She moved back to western Oklahoma in 1982 and later Cordell in 2003 to make her home.
She was a member of the Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Matthew Scott Woods, Spokane, Washington; her mother, Marie Ferguson, Weatherford, Oklahoma; her father, Jearl Ferguson, Sayre, Oklahoma; her maternal grandmother, Nettie Jencks, Thomas, Oklahoma; two sisters, Janet Ann Flowers, Sayre, Oklahoma, and Teana Rose Lee, Weatherford, Oklahoma; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Jim and Ruby Ferguson, and maternal grandfather Verne Oscar Jencks and one brother, Dean Verne Ferguson.
