Virginia Little

Funeral services for Virginia Little of El Reno, were held at 11 a.m., September 11, at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Jon L. White officiating. Burial was in the Resurrection Memorial Cemetery in Oklahoma City. Services were under the direction of Wilson Funeral Home.
Virginia was born in El Reno on July 12, 1916, to Olive Carlton and Clarence Leske Seamands.
Virginia left home in 1933 for four years at Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha and graduated in home economics. Her first job was a teacher at Cloud Chief in Washita County. She was a home demonstration agent in Caddo County and Washita County. She was the Washita County Extension Agent from 1942-1947.
After the war she attended Iowa State University for graduate work in food and nutrition but left to marry Evert Little at the home farm on Jan. 12, 1947. They lived in Tulsa where Evert got his doctorate and daughter Sandra was born on Aug. 12, 1950. On May 18, 1956, a son Edsel Allen, was born.
Virginia remained an active member of First Presbyterian Church, PEO and Canadian County Geological Society and the Oklahoma Ethiopia Society.
She will be remembered as a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and loyal friend. She was a Christian who dearly loved God and First Presbyterian Church of El Reno, whose life was one of loving commitment of her faith.
The family suggests memorials be made to First Presbyterian Church, 221 S. Barker, El Reno, OK 73036, Canadian County Geological Society, P.O. Box 866, El Reno, OK 73036, Oklahoma Ethiopia Society, Marie Hobbs, treasurer, 1402 E. 125th St., Jenks, OK 74067, or Russell-Murray Hospice, 221 S. Bickford, El Reno, OK 73036.
