Charles F. Linstead

Charles F. Linstead, 60, of Eufaula, passed away Sunday, June 6, 2004, at the Community Hospital Lakeview. Funeral services were held 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 9, at the Kelley Memorial Chapel with the Reverend Darrell Ray officiating. Burial was at Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Hunn, Black & Merritt Funeral Home of Eufaula.
Charles was born on July 5, 1943, in Cordell, Oklahoma, the son of Carl Frank and Sara (Fuhrman) Linsteadt. He graduated from Rocky High School in 1961. He later attended the Oklahoma City Electrician School. He worked for the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center as a technician. In 1970, Charles bought his first Sonic. For twenty years Charles owned several Sonics. He sold a majority of them in 1989 when he moved to Eufaula. On November 27, 1980, Charles married Marie Terry in Valdosta, Georgia. In 1989, Charles started buying land and real estate. He was a member of the Eufaula Masonic Lodge #1 and was a 32nd Degree Mason. He loved boating.
Survivors include: his wife, Marie, of the home; son, Brandon Frank Linstead of the home; daughter Villette Marie Linstead also of the home; mother-in-law, Leo Terry of Valdosta, Georgia; sisters, Bobbie Moon and husband Don of Edmond and Karlena Risenhoover of Arcadia. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. Charles is preceded in death by his parents.
