Funeral services for Alvin Floyd Loftiss were held Saturday, February 15, 2003 at the First Christian Church, Elk City, Oklahoma. Services were officiated by Gene Spillman. Jack Loftiss Funeral Home conducted the services.
Alvin was born January 29, 1913 at the home of L.B. and Hattie Loftiss, three miles east of Elk City, Oklahoma. He passed away at home, two miles east of Elk City on Tuesday, February 11, 2003 at the age of 90 years.
He graduated at Elk City, attended Weatherford College, Oklahoma Panhandle A&M, and Oklahoma City Business College.
Alvin married Velma Louise Bruns-Stayton from Sayre, Oklahoma on September, 1940. She brought to this union a daughter. They had two boys.
He farmed most of his life. He had a grade A dairy farm, and changed it to a large pig farm where he had over a 1,000 pigs. He loved the farm. His hobbies included gardening, traveling, bowling and fishing.
Survivors include his wife Velma of the home; one daughter Gayla George of Elk City; two sons, Floyd Loftiss and wife, Carol of Stillwater, Gary Loftiss and wife, Carolyn of Elk City; ten grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
