Isaac Joseph Keener

Isaac Joseph (Joe) Keener passed away July 23, 2002 at the Comanche County Hospital in Lawton, OK. He was born May 19, 1929 to Lewis and Ester Keener in Atkins, Arkansas. In 1960 Joe married Mary Harris. Joe served as a school teacher for five years and a minister for over 50 years, preaching in Arkansas, Texas and Oklahoma. His ministry included radio and a television program. Joe loved gardening and watching things grow.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; sons, Thomas Wayne Keener, Joseph Lee Keener and Edward Lewis Keener; daughter Mary Ann Williams; grandchildren, Angie, Andrew and Christi; brothers, Elbert and Clarence and sister, Edna Teeter. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Irma Lee; both parents; and brother Iverson Keener. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the India Fund c/o Rock Hill Church of Christ P.O. Box 2301 Frisco, TX 75034. Memorial services were held at the Northwest Church of Christ in Lawton on Saturday, July 27 at 10:00 a.m. Services were directed by Green Hill Funeral Home, Sapulpa, OK.
