Funeral services for Mabel M. Haffner, 76, were Friday, April 26 at St. John's United Church of Christ in Okeene. The Rev. Van Herd officiated. Burial was in Ebenfeld Cemetery, Okeene, under direction of Wilkinson Mortuary. She was born December 9, 1919, southwest of Okeene to Christ and Margaret Karbs and died Wednesday, April 24, 1996 at the Okeene hospital. She was a resident of Okeene all her life. She graduated from Liberty School and was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ. She was employed by the Okeene Public Schools in the cafeteria. She and Howard Haffner were married at Okeene August 3, 1940. Surviving are a son, Robert, Okeene; two daughters, Judy Worley, Okeene and Sharon Mullins, Canton; her mother, Mollie Bouse; five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
