Ada Beatrice Hugen, born Ada Beatrice Lutrel in Liberty, Oklahoma on June 26, 1921. She was one of 5 children. "Beatrice" moved to Arvin, CA with her family as a young girl during the "Grapes of Wrath" era, where she worked the "fields" and where she met and married John Hugen. She later moved to Bakersfield until her death, May 22, 2004. She is now residing in Heaven with her husband and first-born son.

Beatrice was preceded in death by her husband, John; son, Larry; and four brothers, Elmer, Roy, Walter and Paul. Beatrice is survived by her son, Steve; daughter-in-law, Maria; four grandchildren, Vaughn and his wife, Alisa; April and her husband, Charles; Crystal and her fiancé, Danny; grandson, Joshua; great grandchildren, Robert, Jessika and Alek.

Services will be held Wednesday, May 26, 2004, 11:00 a.m., at Hillcrest Park & Mortuary.

Visitation to be held Tuesday, May 25, 2004, from 4-8 p.m., at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
