CANADIAN - Leta Stephenson, 86, died Wednesday, May 29, 2002.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery with Donald Hill, pastor of The River Church and the Rev. Mindy McLanahan, a granddaughter, officiating. Arrangements are by Stickley-Hill Funeral Directors.

Mrs. Stephenson was a nurse. She was well known for riding side-saddle with full dress during the Canadian Fourth of July Parade and Rodeo Grand Entries.

Survivors include two sons, Edward Stephenson of Eufaula, Okla., and Delane Stephenson of Canadian; a daughter, Cheta McLanahan of Canadian; a sister, Vera Baker of Sunray; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be to Hemphill County Hospice, 1020 S. Fourth Ave., Canadian, TX 79014.
