LOCKNEY - Bernice Miller, 98, died Friday, Jan. 23, 1998.Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Tommie Beck, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Lockney Cemetery by Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home.
Mrs. Miller was born in Miami County. She attended college in Kansas. She moved to Lockney from Altus, Ark., in 1927.
She married Samuel Gilbert Miller in 1921 at Hanna, Okla. They owned and operated Lockney Drug Store for 30 years. Mr.Miller died in 1953. She also was preceded in death by a son, Maurice Robert Miller, in 1988.
Mrs. Miller was a 50-year member of Order of the Eastern Star Lodge No. 31. She was the oldest living member of FirstUnited Methodist Church in Lockney.
Survivors include two grandchildren, Maurice Robert "Bob" Miller Jr. of Dumas and Debra Karis of Scottsdale, Ariz.; and two great-grandchildren.
