October 2, 1926 - September 24, 2002
Mr. Paul Murl Jones, age 75 years, 11 months and 23 days, resident of De Queen, Sevier Co., AR., formally of Bunch, Adair Co.,OK., died Tuesday, September 24, 2002 in the De Queen Regional Medical Center. He was born to Pete Madison and Nora Belle Rhoades Jones on October 2, 1926 near Wetumka, Oklahoma.
He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army, was a retired Welder and Timber worker, and was a member of the Pentecostal Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents of Adair Co., OK; his first wife, Cynthia Mary Young-Jones; a son, Earl Gene Jones; a grandchild; Kay Higgins-Goins; a sister, Nellie Faye; and a son-in law.
He is survived by his wife, Orene Dorthalou Nipper Jones of De Queen; five sons: LeRoy Jones of De Queen; Murl Jones of Ogden, Arkansas; Matt Jones of Broken Bow, Oklahoma; Anthony Jones of De Queen, Arkansas; and Earl Lee Jones of De Queen; ten daughters: Nadine Higgins of Jefferson, Texas; Georgia Lee Martin of Stilwell, Oklahoma; Wanda Fagan of Mena, Arkansas; Sue Ashcraft of Hatton Gap, Arkansas; Aleta Jones and Maleta Bruce both of De Queen; Carolyn Herrera of Idabel, Oklahoma; Christy Alonso of Lockesburg, Arkansas; Elena Martinez of Searcy, Arkansas; and Kayla Jones of De Queen;
One brother: Silas Jones of Rt 1, Bunch, Oklahoma; six sisters: Mary Limore; Ruth Rodriquez; Martha Real; Ella Harper, and Connie Roberts all of Rt 1, Bunch, Adair Co., Oklahoma, and Daisy Poor of Rt 5, Stilwell, Adair Co., OK.; 34 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 4 daughter-in-laws; 7 son-in-laws and a number of nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services for Mr. Paul M. Jones will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27, 2002 in the Watson Cemetery, Watson, McCurtain Co., Oklahoma with Rev. Tim Bowlin officiating, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, September 26, 2002.
