Grace Lavada Vaughn, 82, of Henrietta, Texas, formerly of Purcell, passed away Friday, August 11, 2023, at Clay County Memorial Hospital in Henrietta, Texas. She passed away peacefully with her daughter Julie and husband Mike Coker by her side. The daughter of Perry Oliver Johnson and Texie Anna (Campbell) Johnson, Grace was born February 2, 1941, in Jumbo, Oklahoma.

Grace married Curtis Vaughn on June 20, 1978, in Chandler, Oklahoma and he preceded her in death after 42 years of marriage. She worked various jobs over the years, but especially enjoyed her time at the McClain County Sheriff’s Office, where she spent ten years as Sergeant. She also enjoyed her year as owner of the Goldsby Café, making lasting memories with friends and family. Grace was a woman who enjoyed simple pleasures like reading mystery novels and chatting with friends and family. She loved Jesus and enjoyed her daily Bible study and reading devotional books. Grace also loved an occasion where she could dress up and wear one of her many hats.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Curtis Lee Vaughn; daughters, Cindy Vaughn Rohlings, Glenda Peck and Samantha Covey; a son, Lee Robert Vaughn; grandson, Cody Peck; sister, Thelma Goins; brothers, Calvin, Robert, Frank and Kent.

Grace is survived by her four daughters, Julie Coker and husband, Mike, of Texas, Wyman Knight and husband, Larry, of Blanchard, Debbie Love and husband, Richard, of Midwest City, Donna Vaughn of Choctaw; one son, Jeffrey Peck and wife, Marla, of Minco; 33 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; brother, Huey “Boots” Johnson and wife Mary Emily, of North Carolina; sister, Margaret “Mag” Shaw of California, and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

The family would like to especially thank Makensy Wyatt and the staff at Grace Care Center for their care for Grace in her last days. Also, thanks to the staff at Henrietta Memorial Hospital. Grace will be missed by everyone that knew her.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at the Eisenhour Funeral Home Chapel in Blanchard. Burial will follow in the Washington Cemetery in Washington.
