Rilla “MeMe” Perry, age 85 of Washington, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 21, 2016.

Rilla was born November 24, 1931 in Guthrie, OK. She was the youngest of three children born to George Brooks and Kate (Burgess) Brooks. She grew up in Guthrie and attended school there, graduating with the Class of 1949. After high school, Rilla began working for Bell Telephone, first in Guthrie then Okla. City. Sometime later, as chance would have it, she met Gordon Perry on a blind date. They fell in love and were married on February 26, 1956, at the Goldsby Baptist Church. They made their home there in Goldsby on the Perry family farm, where together they raised 4 children, daughters, Diann and Sally and sons, David and Gary. Rilla worked tirelessly as a homemaker, farmer’s wife, mother and as a care giver to the entire Perry family. She was an avid Washington sports fan when her children and grandchildren were playing sports. When her sons were growing up she was a Cub Scout Den Mother and as they got in high school she was an active FFA mom. For the past 60 years, she has been an active member of the Goldsby Baptist Church and served the Lord faithfully. Rilla taught Sunday school for many years and over the past several years she looked forward to Tuesday nights with the chicken footers. Throughout her life, she enjoyed listening to gospel music and traveling with her family. She was an excellent cook, a great candy maker and she never missed an opportunity to go shopping. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and a true friend to many. She will be dearly missed!

She was preceded in death by: Her husband, Gordon Perry in 2002; Infant son, Edward Louis Perry; Parents, George and Kate Brooks; Sister, Maxine Ashpaugh and Brother, George Brooks Jr.

Rilla leaves behind: Two Daughters, Diann Nelson and husband Ronny of Goldsby and Sally Perry and Gregory Renaue of Purcell; Two sons, David Perry and wife Sharon of Purcell and Gary Perry and wife Jackie of Washington; 7 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren. Many nieces, nephews and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Friday, December 23, 2016, at the Goldsby Baptist Church.

Burial will follow at the Washington Cemetery. Arrangements by Wilson-Little Funeral Home of Purcell.
