Robert L. “Bob” Doyle, age 76, of Wayne, OK passed away Wednesday, August 23, 2017. Bob passed away at home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born July 30, 1941 in Shackleford County, Texas. Bob was the 5th child of six children born to Rush Oscar Doyle and Nodra Mae (Hash) Doyle. Bob grew up a country boy and attended school in San Saba, Texas. In his earlier years he worked various jobs with his brothers and brother-in-law. In 1959, he moved to Purcell, Oklahoma to work for General Telephone Company. While dragging Main Street in Purcell he met the love of his life, Carolyn Sue Aday. They were married on Feb. 10, 1962, in San Saba, Texas but returned to Purcell to live and raise their four daughters, Ginger, Sherry, Jane and Bobbie. Bob remained working for GTE for 34 years before retiring in 1993. In the fall of 1993, after retiring he and Carolyn moved to a farm in Wayne where he enjoyed farming and ranching. Throughout his life, Bob enjoyed fishing, hunting, taking his family camping and farming. He also enjoyed woodworking. Most of all, Bob loved a good old fish fry while being with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by: Parents, Rush and Nodra Doyle; Three brothers, Marvin, Desmond and Don; One sister, Dorothy “Dot” Gee;

He is survived by: Wife of 55 ½ years, Carolyn Sue of the home in Wayne; Four daughters and their spouses, Ginger and Danny Jackson of Wayne, Sherry and Dennis McCray of Purcell, Jane and Brian Ozment of Purcell, Bobbie and Steven Sawyers of Stratford; One brother, Bill Doyle and wife Sandi of Menard, Texas; A brother-in-law, Don Aday and wife Chris of Redding, CA.; A sister-in-law, Nancy Doyle of Breckenridge, TX.; Eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be 2:30 P.M., Saturday, August 26, 2017 at Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel, Purcell, OK.

Interment will be at Washington Cemetery, Washington, OK.
