Orval Ray Day, age 70 of Wanette, passed away Monday, May 20, 2013. Orval was born June 29, 1942 in Oakwood, OK, the 8th of 9 children born to Griffin Chauncey Day and Thelma Myrtle (Bennett) Day. He grew up primarily in Oklahoma City where he attended school. After school, he began working as an electrician. He eventually became licensed, and worked for many years as a member of the Local Union #1141. Orval married Brenda Faye Duncan on June 17, 1960 in Norman. They made their home in OKC and Del City area before settling in Wanette in 1972. Together they raised 2 children; daughter Carla and son, Frank. Orval was his own man. He loved life and lived everyday like it might be his last. He will be greatly missed!

He was preceded in death by: His wife, Brenda Day; His parents, Griffin and Thelma Day; 3 sisters, Florence Kelly, Vera Christian and Sue Shepherd and 2 brothers, Chester Day and Roy Day.

Orval leaves behind: His daughter, Carla Manuel of Wanette; His son, Frank Day and wife Jamie of Lexington; 2 sisters, Leona Graham of Enid, OK and Ruby Kelly of Nicoma Park, OK; His brother, Griffin Day of Midwest City; 3 grandchildren, Noah B. O’Neal, Richard Ray Day and Melanie Lynn Kurdziel; 5 great grandchildren, Rylee, Boston, Purity, Darton and Olivia and Many other family and friends.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 1:00 P.M. Friday, May 24, 2013, at the Victory Point Baptist Church near Wanette. Burial will follow at the Rosedale Cemetery.
