Funeral services for Sanford Ray George, 34, of 801 N. Leo, will be conducted at 1 p.m. today at the Gaskill Funeral Chapel.

The Rev. Larry Sparks will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Archie Beller. Burial will be in the New Johnsonville Cemetery, Byars, Okla. under the direction of Gaskill Funeral Home.

George died Tuesday, Sept 20, in Shawnee.

He was born Feb. 12, 1952 in Oklahoma City and had lived in Shawnee since 1959. George attended Shawnee High School. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and a carpenter.

Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Glen (Fern) Beal, Shawnee; two sisters, Gloria Douthit, Kansas, Okla.; and Beverly Chapline, El Paso, Texas; two brothers, Charles D. George and Raymond Gerry George, both of Shawnee; grandmother, Ruby Davis, Purcell; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will be at the home of Charles George, 1237 E. 9th, Shawnee.
