Sgt. Kyle Edward Gober, age 24, of Newcastle, Oklahoma passed away unexpectedly on Monday, Feb. 19, 2018 in Clarksville, Tennessee.

Kyle was born June 3, 1993 in Oklahoma City. He was the younger of two children born to Eddie L. Gober Jr. and Teresa A. (Owens) Gober. Kyle grew up in Newcastle and attended Newcastle High School, graduating as a valedictorian of his 2011 senior class. During his high school years he ran cross country, played soccer and played the clarinet in the band.

After high school Kyle joined the U. S. Army and for the past six years he proudly served his country in the U. S. Army 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (SOAR), also known as the Night Stalkers. He had served multiple tours of duty overseas stationed in Iraq, Dubai and was currently scheduled to deploy to Poland.

Throughout his life, Kyle loved being in the outdoors, he enjoyed riding motorcycles, fishing, golfing, archery, playing video games and hanging with his army buddies. Kyle loved his family and they loved him. He always looked forward to family get-togethers. When he had leave he always wanted to come home and spend time with them. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by:

Grandfather: Meredith Owens

Grandparents: Homer and Dorothy Kimble

Grandmother: Marge Gober

He is survived by:

Parents: Eddie L. Gober Jr. and Teresa Gober of Newcastle, OK.

Sister: Lauren Chambers and husband Jared of OKC.

Grandfather: Eddie L. Gober Sr. of OKC.

One niece on the way, Sutton Ann Chambers

Nine aunts and uncles:

Peggy Biggins and husband Alex of Binger, OK.

Linda Moore and husband Tommy of Hattiesburg, MS.

Norman Owens of Newcastle, OK.

David Owens and wife Sheri of Owasso, OK.

Timmy Owens and wife Janette of Guthrie, OK.

Chris Owens of Harrison, Ohio

Tammy Mellegaard of Newcastle, OK.

Kevin Owens and wife Stacy of Moore, OK.

Kimberly Gibson and husband Roy of Newcastle, OK.

Numerous cousins, great aunts and uncles and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be 1:00pm Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2018 at Woodland Hills Baptist Church in Newcastle, OK.

Interment will be at the Newcastle Memorial Gardens with military honors. Arrangements are by Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Newcastle, OK. Memorials may be made to Wounded Warriors.
