Delphia Mae Carson age 74, of Noble, formerly of Newcastle, passed away Wednesday, May 04, 2016 at the Norman Specialty Hospital.

She was born August 31, 1941 in Wynnewood, Oklahoma, the oldest of two children born to Leonard Stanley Richards and Ellen Eloise (Rickey) Richards. Delphia grew up in South Oklahoma City and graduated from Capitol Hill High School in 1959. After high school she worked one year as a scrub tech. at University Hospital in OKC before getting married. On her birthday on August 31, 1960 in OKC, she married the love of her life, Jim Carson. Together they raised three sons and made their home in OKC for the next 11 years. Then in 1971 they moved to Newcastle where they lived for nearly 40 years. In 2010 they moved to Noble where they live today. Delphia worked tirelessly as a wife, mother and homemaker. She was a wonderful cook and did whatever she needed to do to provide for her family. For many years, she and Jim raised and canned vegetables from their garden. While her sons were growing up, they all enjoyed spending summer weekends, camping and fishing at Lake Texoma. She also enjoyed sewing, making jewelry and working with all kinds of Crafts. After Jim retired, they enjoyed traveling in their RV and spending winters in Arizona. While her grandchildren were growing up, she enjoyed babysitting them.

She was preceded in death by: Her parents, Leonard and Ellen Richards;

She is survived by: Husband, Jim Carson of the home in Noble; Three sons, Larry Carson and wife Becky of Edmond, Chris Carson and wife Beata of Harrah, Mike Carson and wife Dana of Newcastle; One brother, Stan Richards and wife Debbie of Philadelphia, PA; Six grandchildren, Shawn Carson and wife Karolina of OKC, Kristen Vick and husband Derrick of Houston, Zach Carson and wife Sarah of Nebraska, Jacob Carson and fiancée Brandi Bauer of OKC, Hayden and Cailey Carson of Newcastle; 2 great grandchildren, Carson and Jacklyn; Also several nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be 3:00 pm Friday, May 6, 2016 at the Newcastle United Methodist Church in Newcastle, OK. Her burial will be at 1:00pm at the Newcastle Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Newcastle.
