Vernon Jones, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away April 15, 2004.

Vernon was born, June 3, 1935 in Byers, Oklahoma and has lived and worked in Bakersfield for the last 37 years.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Shirley, whom he has been married to for 49 years. He is also survived by his 3 sons and daughter; Rick Jones, Debbie Cobb and her husband Robby, JR Jones, Mike Jones and his wife Michelle. Vernon was also very fortunate to have 5 grandchildren: Jason, Kaylee, Shelly, Ricky and Brittney, and 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Randy Jones.

Vernon enjoyed life every day he was given here on earth. Some of his greatest joys were spending time with his wife, and also hunting with his son Mike. He loved the outdoors and would never miss an opportunity to go fishing, hunting, or camping with family and friends. He will be missed dearly by all of his loved ones and friends.

Services will be held Wednesday, April 21, at 10 a.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Chapel.
