Funeral services for Lillie B. Ham Hackelman, 90, of Baytown, Texas, were held June 27, 2005 at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Danny Biddy officiating. Interment was at Palms Memorial Park in Dayton, Texas, under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.
Mrs. Hackelman died June 25, 2005 at the Rehabilitation and Health Center of Baytown. She was born June 27, 1914 in Atmore, Ala., the daughter of M.C. and Margarette Steadham Ham and was a former resident of Old River and Purcell.
Mrs. Hackelman was a homemaker, a graduate of the Dayton High School Class of 1935 and a member of the Old River Baptist Church.
She was a riveter for Douglas Aircraft in Oklahoma City during World War II and helped maintain the family ranch with her late husband.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clyde Hackelman; one sister, Eunice Jackson and three brothers, Howard Ham, Woodrow Ham and Charles Ham.
Survivors include three sisters, Hazel Porter of Cleveland, Nettie Harmon of Old River/Mt. Belvieu and Thelma Reed of Dayton and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Virgil Courley, Melvin Doucette, Michael Wuensche, Montere Wuensche, Lonnie Fisher, Terry Williams, John Shirley and Richard Whitaker.
In lieu of floral remembrances, the family requests that donations be made to the American Heart Association, 10060 Buffalo Speedway, Houston, Texas 77054.
