Funeral services for Edward Raymond Castoe, 92, of Purcell were held Sept. 24, 2005 at the Eastland Church of the Firstborn in Tulsa. A committal service was held at Robbins Cemetery near Coffeyville, Kan., under the direction of Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell.
Mr. Castoe died Sept. 21, 2005 in Oklahoma City.
He was born July 24, 1913 in Nowata County, Okla., one of 11 children of Harrison B. Castoe and Elizabeth Brinker Castoe. He was reared around Coffeyville, Kan., and northeast Oklahoma.
Mr. Castoe married Lola Eunice Wilson Aug. 9, 1934 in McPherson, Kan. The couple lived in California for many years where he worked as a millwright at a hydro electric plant and on other construction projects. After Mr. Castoe retired they moved to Missouri.
After Mrs. Castoe died, he moved to Tulsa where he was a member of the Eastland General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lola Castoe on March 3, 1996; eight sisters, May, Pearl, Mary, Letty, Myrtle, Zora, Florence and Margaret and one brother, Roy.
Survivors include one brother, George Castoe, of Manteka, Calif.
