Patricia “Pat” Wilhite age 77 of Wayne passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at the Integris Hospice House in OKC. She was born on Feb. 3, 1938 in Satanta, Kansas. Pat was the 2nd child of four born to Joseph Bernard Conover and Jewel Leota (Carson) Conover.

Pat grew up in Satanta and graduated from Satanta High School in 1957. While in high school she met Donald Wilhite. They were married on May 22, 1957, a few days after Pat graduated. They were married in Oklahoma City where Don already had established a home and a job working at Westinghouse Electric. Pat later attended two years of college in Chickasha at the Oklahoma College for Women. In 1964 she and Don bought a small farm near Wayne, OK and later moved there in 1970. Pat worked for GTE in Oklahoma City as an administrative assistant until she retired. She and Don loved living in the country where they raised two children, Charles and Shari. Throughout their life, she and Don enjoyed traveling across the U.S., overseas and Hawaii. While their children were growing up, they enjoyed spending time at the lakes in Oklahoma. Pat was a faithful member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Purcell. She enjoyed her friendship with her “Golden Girls” and working on the funeral dinner committee at church. In her later years she would visit the local nursing homes and would serve communion to the infirmed. She was an avid reader and dear friend to all who knew her. Pat loved her children and especially enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren. After Don passed away in 2001, she married George Perry on November of 2003. They continued living at her home in Wayne, going to church and spending time with their families.

She was preceded in death by: Parents, Joe and Jewel Conover; Two husbands, Don Wilhite in 2001 and George Perry in 2011; One brother, Jimmy Conover in 1949; One sister, Phyllis Garde in 2010;

She is survived by: One son, Charles Wilhite and wife Lynn of Round Rock, TX; One daughter, Shari Jones of OKC; One sister, Glenda Gowens and husband Terry of OKC; One sister-in-law, Janice Wood and husband Tom, of Eureka KS; One brother-in-law, Ray Garde of Espanola, NM Four grandchildren, Anderson Wilhite, Randall Wilhite, Bailey Wilhite and Brianna Jones. Nieces and nephews; Greg Thompson, Victor & Denise Garde, Joe & Nina Garde, Jeff Gowens, Marcus & Tammy Gowens, Gina & Derek Mountsier, & Julia Gowens

A rosary service will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, May 16, 2015 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Purcell, followed by a Funeral Mass at 2:00 pm on Saturday.
