Joyce Mosely Wells, age 83 of Purcell, passed away Friday July 17, 2015 at her home.

Joyce was born April 11, 1932 in Rosedale, OK, the youngest of 3 children born to William Lee “W. L.” Mosely and Iva R. (Scott) Mosely. She was raised in Rosedale and attended Rosedale Schools, graduating in 1950. Joyce grew up a farm girl, and learned at a very young age the value of hard work. A few years removed from school, she moved to Purcell. In 1958, Joyce became the Court Clerk of McClain County. She was the first woman in the State of Oklahoma to hold such a position. She retired in 1995, after more than 37 years of dedicated service. When not working, Joyce enjoyed her animals and tending to her flower gardens and apple and peach trees. Her greatest joy however was spending time with her daughter, Kristel and grandchildren, Scarlett, Aaron and Landon. Joyce was dedicated to the Rosedale Presbyterian Church where she played piano and sang. She also enjoyed walking Red Hill and taking her grandkids to to the pool. She looked forward to after school trips for sno cones and her absolute favorite was banana. She was a wonderful person with a larger than life personality. She will be dearly missed!

She was preceded in death by: Her parents, W.L. and Iva Mosely and Her brother, Virgil Mosely.

Joyce leaves behind: Her daughter, Kristel Gray Oliver and husband Michael of Purcell; Dear friend, Charles Gray of Purcell; Her grandchildren, Scarlett, Aaron and Landon Gray, all of Purcell; Her sister, Wilma White of Idaho; And other relatives , The Wanda Cantrell Family of Wayne and A host of other family and friends.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 22, 2015, at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Purcell. Burial will follow at the Hillside Cemetery.
