Faye Webb, age 85 of Purcell, passed away Saturday August 27, 2016, at the Westbrook Gardens Assisted Living in Purcell. Vera Faye Young was born September 2, 1930 in Indianola, OK, the middle child of 5 children born to Roark Simpson Young and Oma Elizabeth (Holt) Young. On March 2, 1949, Faye and a young serviceman named James Thomas Webb were united in marriage in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. Together they raised 4 daughters; Linda, Janet, Deborah and Jamie. They lived in various towns in Oklahoma and Texas, eventually settling on a small farm east of Lexington. In 1986, they moved to Shawnee, before returning to Purcell in 1996. Faye enjoyed cooking, tending to her garden and canning. Her and Thomas looked forward to traveling, and especially vacationing with their grandchildren, and made many friends during their travels. Faye was a devout Christian and longtime member of the Lexington Church of Christ. She enjoyed singing in church and taught bible school and Sunday school for many years. More recently she has attended the 9th and Pierce Church of Christ in Purcell. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother, sister, aunt and a true friend.

She was preceded in death by: Her husband, James Thomas Webb; 2 brothers, Clarence and Junior Young; 2 sisters, Francis Walker and Bobbie Humes; 2 ½ brothers, Cecil and Floyd 3 ½ sisters, Gertrude, Mildred and Ovene.

Faye is survived by: 4 daughters, Linda Newman and husband George of Tecumseh, Janet Williams and husband Tommy of Purcell, Deborah Coffman and husband Michael of Pottsboro, TX and Jamie Brooks and husband David of Coppell, TX; 4 sister-in-laws, Marie Vaughn, Lounette Cozine, Melvia Williams, and Beverly Webb; 8 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.
