Lola Benlean “Nan” Mayo, age 85 of Purcell, passed away Sunday, September 25, 2016, surrounded by her family at her home.

Lola Benlean Harper was born March 30, 1931 in Purcell, OK, the 3rd of 5 daughters born to Benjamin and Priscilla Belle Harper. Ben was raised in Purcell and attended Purcell schools. On February 27, 1948, Ben married her best friend and the love of her life, Gene Mayo. They made their home on a farm west of Purcell where together they raised 2 daughters, LaCrisa and Debra. Ben’s hobby was her family and she cherished having her daughters, grandkids and great grandkids close to home. She was affectionately known by many as simply “NAN”. For many years, she volunteered at the Word of Life Academy in Dibble. Ben loved the Lord; she served faithfully and leaves a lasting legacy to us all! Let us not forget!

She was preceded in death by: Her husband, Gene Mayo in April of 2015; Her parents, Benjamin and Priscilla Harper; Two sisters, Vera Rasmussen and Margie Bebout and Her son-in-law, Jim Hughes.

Nan leaves behind: Her daughters, LaCrisa Green and husband Robert of Purcell and Debra Hughes of Edmond; Adopted daughter, Alice Boyette of Gainesville, FL; Two Grandchildren, Christopher Green and wife Julie of Cleveland, TN and DeAnna Newman and husband Seth of Purcell; Six great-grandchildren, Whitney, Ben, Ethan, Zoe, Clive and Emery and Two Sisters, Mildred Wells of Lindsay and Ila Hudson of Wanette; Many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other family and friends.
