Marcotte Rites Set For Today
Funeral services for Mrs. Lena Marcotte, 83, Purcell pioneer, will be held at 10:30 Thursday morning (today) in Our Lady of Victory church, with Father John Wade officiating. Interment will be in the family plot at Hillside cemetery under the direction of the Yoakum funeral home.
Born in Aurora, Kansas, Mrs. Marcotte came to Purcell at an early age and had lived here since that time. She was a member of the Catholic church. She died Monday in Purcell nursing home following an illness.
She is survived by five daughters, Mrs. C.W. Tippit, Purcell, Mrs. W.A. Carroll, Moore; Mrs. August Lehman, Oklahoma City; Mrs. L.R. Haase, Creal Springs, Ill.; Mrs. Thomas Allen, St Clair Shores, Mich.; four sons, Edward and Leonard, both of Oklahoma City; Joseph Cleo, Choctaw, J.B. of Del City; a sister, Mrs. Diana Anhalt, Purcell; two brothers, Leo and Bill Moisant, both of Oklahoma City; 59 grandchildren, and 87 great-grandchildren.
A rosary service was held Wednesday evening at the Yoakum Memory chapel, with Father John Wade officiating.
Grandsons will serve as casket bearers.

Marcotte Rites Set For Friday
Resident of Area Since Dec. 1889
Funeral services for Joseph (Joe) Marcotte, 82, will be held at Our Lady of Victory Catholic church at 10:30 Friday morning, with Father Kenneth Fulton officiating. Interment will be made in Hillside cemetery under the direction of the Yoakum funeral home. A rosary service will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday in the Yoakum Memory chapel.
Born in Kansas, Marcotte had lived most of his life in or near Purcell. He farmed and at one time owned and operated a grocery store here. He had been in failing health and died Monday.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Lena, of the home; five daughters, Mrs. C.W. Tippit, Purcell, Mrs. W.A. Carroll and Mrs. A.C. Lehman, both of Oklahoma City; Mrs. L.R. Haase, El Reno; Mrs. Tom Allen, St. Clara Shores, Mich.; four sons, Edward and Leonard, both of Oklahoma City; J.C. of Choctaw; J.B. of Del City; a sister, Mrs. Steve Urban, Oakley, Kan.; three brothers, Leo, S. Dakota; Ben, Sharon Springs, Kan.; Henry, Cortez, Colo.; 59 grandchildren and 65 great-grandchildren.
Grandsons of the deceased will serve as casket bearers.
